- Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve: Our best recommendation for exploring the cloud forest is the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. With a network of interconnected trails ranging from easy to moderate, you can choose to hike with or without a guide. Highlights along the trails include a suspension bridge, a waterfall, and a stunning viewpoint known as La Ventana, where you can watch moisture-rich clouds roll in from the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.
- Santa Elena Reserve: The Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve is another of the best hiking destinations in Monteverde.
